Victim Services Counselling - Free Telehealth Counselling

We deliver approved Victims Services counselling to people affected by crime, trauma, and violence throughout Sydney and across New South Wales. If you’ve experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, or other traumatic events, we are here to provide compassionate, evidence-based support tailored to your needs.

What Is Victims Services Psychology?
Victims Services NSW funds free psychological counselling for eligible individuals impacted by violent crime. Through this program, you may be entitled to up to 22 hours of funded counselling, with additional sessions available in more complex or severe cases (such as child sexual abuse, multiple traumatic experiences, or modern slavery).

Support is available to:

Primary victims – people directly harmed by a violent crime

Secondary victims – witnesses or close family members of a victim

Family victims – family members of a homicide victim
-
Victims of modern slavery
You do not need a police report, formal charge, or court conviction to access this service.

How to Access Free Counselling Through Victims Services
1. Check Your Eligibility
You may be eligible if you:

Were a victim of a violent act in NSW
-
Are a close relative or witness of a crime
-
Experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, physical assault, child abuse, or modern slavery
-
Currently live in NSW or the ACT
2. Apply Through Victims Services NSW
Submit your application online at Victims Services | NSW Governmentor call 1800 633 063.
3. Receive Your Counselling Approval Letter (CAL)
Once approved, you will receive a Counselling Approval Letter (CAL). This letter is required before booking your first appointment.
